I’ve been promoting sustainable brands and purpose-driven businesses for more than 25 years. 

Having helped Solarcentury grow from £5m to £50 million turnover, created the We Support Solar campaign which led to the introduction of the solar feed-in tariff in the UK, worked on the PostiveNews crowdfunding campaign which raised £263k, and the Highlands Rewilding crowdfunder which raised £1.2 million, as well as designing, launching and promoting numerous sustainable brands and charities, I’ve learned a few lessons along the way.

I’ve also had my fair share of failures which, in hindsight I could have avoided if I had been better informed and prepared. I’ve seen countless businesses, and numerous passionate, dedicated people, struggle to get their world-changing projects off the ground, by failing to attract users and achieve sales – without which most projects inevitably fail.

Like many people, I’m getting increasingly worried about the state of the world and want to do everything I can to encourage positive change.

So, I’ve decided to start sharing everything I’ve learned about impact marketing, to help other marketeers make more impact in their work, and to help business owners and managers of purpose-driven brands generate more leads, make more sales, or collect more donations, in order that their businesses can make a bigger impact.
